WHAT WE BELIEVE

Edify believes God calls us, and all Christians, to help people in need. We work to meet both practical human needs and eternal, spiritual needs. Although we seek to provide better academic and life skill training to students at our partner schools, our primary goal is to encourage students, teachers, administrators and donors to deepen their walk with Jesus Christ.

GOD

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

JESUS

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is completely unique. He alone is the mediator between God and humanity. We rely on the historic facts of His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, and His bodily resurrection. We believe Jesus ascended and now sits at the right hand of the Father. We eagerly anticipate His return in power and glory.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells all who, by faith, are Christians.

HUMANITY

We believe God created each human being with an eternal soul. Exercising their free will, our ancestors fell into sin, which became the deadly heritage of all people. Sin corrupts and destroys the creatures of God. It separates us from God. Unless we ask for redemption, our souls are eternally lost.

SALVATION

All people need to be saved from sin and its eternal consequences. God provides a means whereby everyone can be saved. Redemption occurs when individuals request forgiveness of their sins and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Eternal life is a gift from God, received by our exercise of faith.

UNITY

We believe in and encourage the spiritual unity of all who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.

BIBLE

We base all our Christian beliefs and shape our practices according to the Bible. We recognize the Bible as inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

STEWARDSHIP

We believe that all who dwell on the earth and all we possess rightfully belong to God. We expect ourselves, and call on others, to use wisely the resources entrusted to us to advance the message of redemption and acts of service that honor God.
