NORTHEAST INDIA

THE NEED

As a whole, the majority, 80.3%

of the population of India identifies as Hindu with only 2.2% identifying as Christian (Joshua Project). Our focus is on the Northeastern region of India where we find the highest concentration of self-identifying Christians in the country.

70.5% of children

attend private schools in Northeast India, the highest percentage in all of India.

The region lags economically

behind India, as well as in terms of industrial development and infrastructure.
