Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Esperanza- Last week Esperanza lost a beloved employee and sister in Christ. Celida Perez was the branch manager for the Esperanza San Pedro office and had been serving with Esperanza for over 15 years. She was a strong believer, a dedicated wife, a loving mother of three and a wonderful leader in her community. At Edify we remember Celida with gratitude as she had been influential from the beginning in getting the Esperanza-Edify program started in San Pedro and played a key role in its success. After  a recent back surgery she suffered from an infection during the recovery process which ultimately took her life. We mourn the loss of this exemplary woman as we also give God thanks for her life and the impact she had on those around her. We lift up her grieving family and ask that God would be their comfort in this time. We also lift up the Esperanza staff as they mourn their loss, specifically for the branch office in San Pedro as they are also trying to keep operations going in Celida’s absence. Celida will be greatly missed by all who knew her and always remembered fondly. Glory be to God for bringing her to Him in His perfect timing, although we do not understand in this moment. We await the day we will be reunited again with Celida.

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;  and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” John 11:25-26
