Dr. Marnie Nair has more than 25 years experience working with at-risk teens and their families. She began her career as a classroom teacher and reading specialist in inner-city middle and high schools in Oakland, New York City and Washington, D.C. In 2009, Marnie moved to San Diego to found City Heights Prep Charter School, a college preparatory school primarily serving newly arrived refugee students from war-torn countries around the world.
She attended UC Berkeley as an undergrad and earned a master’s degree in special education from Teachers College at Colombia University and a doctorate in Language Literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
